Texas Battles to Reclaim Faith, Morals in Schooling

Texas lawmakers vote on a bill that would require the Ten Commandments to be posted in every classroom, while several other religion-related bills have been approved in the state Senate. A key example is a bill that would allow uncertified chaplains to replace professional counselors in K-12 schools. These efforts are fueled by the belief that there is no separation between God and government and a push to reestablish religion in public life following the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of the football coach who prayed with his players. It seems like the left wants us to believe that Christianity is exclusive while failing to recognize that Texans are just trying to bring back a missing piece from their classrooms—one that can instill well-needed moral values in their students.
