Clinton Judge Won't Set Aside 20K Suspect Ballots

Picture a rancher asking his neighbor to pen up 20,000 head of cattle, and the neighbor says, "Nope, they're free to graze like all the rest." That's what happened Wednesday, folks. The Hill reports U.S. District Judge David Carter denied the Justice Department's request that California set aside mail ballots tied to more than 20,000 suspected noncitizens, and the Washington Examiner notes it landed less than a week before the midterms. California can keep accepting those ballots like any others.
Carter wrote that the request "violates longstanding constitutional principles mandating that states have control over..." and the quote trails off right there, like a fence line nobody finished. The sources don't say how DOJ arrived at that 20,000 number, or whether an appeal is coming. The Guardian calls the request legally thin. Fine. The question about who's actually on those rolls isn't going away. The cattle are confused, and frankly, so am I.
