Pentagon Probes Base Freezer Failures as Hack

Reuters reports the Pentagon is treating late-August freezer failures at U.S. military bases as a suspected hack, citing four officials. At least six commissaries were hit. At Fort Huachuca, somebody cranked the freezers up overnight and spoiled the food, which is a lot of ruined ground beef for one night's work. The Army's Criminal Investigation Division Cyber Field Office is on the case, working with French law enforcement, because a similar attack in France overrode controls at more than 350 establishments. Nobody's been named yet. On my ranch, when a freezer quits, I check the plug before I call anybody. Washington has never once found the plug, and it still bills us for the search.
