Two Colorado College Students Found Dead

Some news calls for a lower voice. Two Colorado Mountain College Leadville students, 19-year-old Kaden Matsuda and 20-year-old Jackson Donlon, left campus Friday for a hike near Ice Mountain. They were reported missing Monday. The Chaffee County Sheriff's Office says both were found dead Wednesday in a basin on West Apostle Mountain, near each other. The Colorado Sun, via the New York Post, reports a storm dropped around two feet of snow in the area during the hike. About 60 search and rescue personnel, along with helicopters, drones and K9 teams, joined the search. Authorities do not suspect foul play, and the cause of death awaits autopsies at the Chaffee County Coroner's Office. Anyone who has spent a winter in those mountains knows how fast the weather can turn, and how much a search depends on people who drop everything to go look. Our hearts go out to the families of these two young men.
