Vance Pitches Paxton: Texas Is Not Surrendering

Vice President JD Vance went to Weatherford, Texas, to stump for Ken Paxton and announce the Agriculture Department is devoting millions to a new beef processing plant in Castro County. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins came along, which tells me somebody in Washington finally asked a cattleman before writing a check. Vance says "this facility in Castro County is going to create hundreds of new jobs" and that it will process 400 head of cattle a day. Around my place, 400 head in one day means the crew hasn't slept and the coffee's gone. The Washington Examiner reports Democrat James Talarico leads Paxton by just over 2 points in the RealClearPolitics average, which is close enough that Paxton's people should quit squatting with their spurs on and get to work.
