Mary Peltola Testifying at Indian Affairs Oversight Hearing | picked for: Mary Peltola, candid

The New York Times reports that aides to Democrat Mary Peltola, along with the DSCC, worked to get a second man named Dan Sullivan onto the Alaska Senate ballot, a retired teacher who registered as a Republican shortly before jumping in. The Daily Mail names operative Jerid Kurtz as the recruiter. Peltola's campaign and the DSCC deny any involvement, and Peltola told the Daily Mail, "This is all stuff to sell newspapers."

Now the Justice Department, the House Oversight Committee and Alaska's governor are all looking into it. Oversight wants Kurtz in person on November 6, and the Daily Mail says DOJ has filed suit to block certification if Sullivan loses over the extra Sullivan.

A man once ran a second Hank at our county feed auction, so folks would bid on the wrong one. We called that cheating, and nobody needed a consultant to say so. Whether this is the same thing is for investigators to say, but you can't blame voters for squinting.
