DOJ Ramps Up Criminal Probe of Alaska's 'Decoy Dan'

Back home, a candidate who shows up with a twin nobody asked for is rarely a coincidence. The Justice Department now reportedly has dozens of new grand jury subpoenas out over an effort to recruit a Daniel J. Sullivan to run against Sen. Dan Sullivan, the Republican incumbent in Alaska. Gov. Mike Dunleavy has opened a state investigation into whether members of Mary Peltola's campaign should face criminal charges. Peltola's campaign and the DSCC say they had nothing to do with it, and I'll let the grand jury decide whether that dog hunts. Nobody has been charged yet, which in my experience means the paperwork is still looking for its boots. Meanwhile, CBS News reports DOJ subpoenas went to California officials over alleged non-citizen voter registrations.
