Bipartisan Push to Oust HEGSETH After Midterms

Washington has finally found something both parties agree on, and it's the calendar. Rep. Suzan DelBene told CBS's The Takeout on Thursday that a vote to impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth "might" happen when Congress returns in the lame duck session, Lord willing and the creek don't rise. Her account is that Speaker Mike Johnson sent the House home early to keep that vote from coming up, and nobody has confirmed it. Asked about impeaching President Trump, she went straight to lowering costs, like a man asked about hay prices who starts talking about the weather. Bloomberg reports members of both parties want Hegseth out after next week's midterms, citing the Iran war and other issues. Nothing in Washington gets scheduled after an election by accident.
