DOJ Accuses Peltola, Democrats of Misleading Court

Back home, when somebody shows up at the sale barn with a second bull wearing your brand, nobody needs a Justice Department lawyer to explain it. The DOJ filed an amended complaint in Anchorage anyway, accusing Mary Peltola's campaign and the DSCC of misleading a federal court about a plan to recruit a second Dan Sullivan. Peltola's campaign has denied any involvement. Her former campaign manager, Elisa Rios, says the boss was 'definitely aware' but 'was not directly involved,' which is the political version of swearing you never touched the cookie jar, you just knew right where it sat. Judges generally read the paperwork, a habit the DSCC apparently never picked up. Governor Dunleavy has sent the Department of Public Safety to see whether state law got broken.
