Charges Dropped in Ohio Festival Mass Shooting

The Guardian · first seen 3d ago · 1 outlet

Twelve people were wounded on June 6 when shooting broke out at Toledo's Old West End festival, and our prayers are with every one of them and their families. Ohio prosecutors moved to drop the case against Eljay Crisp-Carr, 20, and a judge agreed on Friday. He had been facing more than 50 felony counts, 25 of them attempted murder, and spent about five months behind bars. The dismissal is without prejudice, so charges can be refiled. WTVG reports his lawyers say he was not at the festival and have video and cellphone evidence supporting an alibi. His defense also believes another person involved remains at large. The Toledo Police Department says its investigation is ongoing, and those twelve people deserve a full and accurate answer.
