Democrats Blast SAVE Act as Decoy Dan Exposes Excuses
The Federalist reports that Peltola's campaign allegedly worked with party leaders to recruit a Republican also named Dan Sullivan to run against Alaska's incumbent Republican senator, aiming to pull votes off the incumbent. Peltola's campaign denies recruiting decoy candidates, which is the same answer a coyote gives about the henhouse. This clashes with Democratic objections to the SAVE America Act, which would require documentary proof of citizenship to register and a photo ID to vote. Democrats call that too much to ask. That dog won't hunt, especially when party leaders are allegedly shopping for a second Dan Sullivan. I'd say I'm surprised, but I've met Congress. If those allegations hold up, Peltola's camp has already told you what it thinks of its own chances.
