Mullin: NY Downgrades Crimes to Shield Illegals

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin told Fox News that New York downgrades offenses so illegal immigrants can slip past ICE. He cited more than 16,000 detainers and 52,000 felony charges, including 131 murderers and 132 rapists. A House Judiciary Committee report names the Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn and Staten Island district attorneys and accuses them of obstructing federal immigration law. Asked about it, New York officials declined or stayed quiet, a tactic I've seen from a teenager with a broken mailbox. Fairfax County, Virginia reportedly has similar policies, so this isn't one bad gate in one pasture. Mullin's rights claim sounds like a bumper sticker, and the numbers he cited are still waiting for somebody to check them.
