Director Michael Mann Shot at LA Gun Range

Pour the coffee and sit down. Filmmaker Michael Mann, 83, was injured Saturday afternoon at a gun range in Los Angeles. Police confirmed the incident happened at The Range LA, a members-only indoor shooting club, and called it a training accident in which a firearm discharged into his leg. A source told TMZ the gun went off while Mann was holstering it. His publicist described the injury as superficial and said he was treated and is being released from the hospital. The Daily Mail reports he was taken there by ambulance. Our thoughts are with Mr. Mann and his family. Every gun owner should remember the basics: treat every firearm as loaded, keep your finger off the trigger, and never let familiarity make you careless.
