A federal judge in Alaska dismissed the Justice Department's lawsuit that would have delayed certifying the Senate race if Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan lost. Judge Sharon Gleason said the department lacked standing, since it offered no workable plan for separating Election Day ballots while keeping votes secret. The Daily Wire quotes her: "Such late-breaking changes to the election rules are strongly disfavored." The DOJ has appealed, per the Daily Mail.

Here's the part worth your attention. The New York Times reports Democratic operatives helped recruit a second Daniel J. Sullivan, whose name looks an awful lot like the senator's. Peltola and her campaign deny involvement. Federal prosecutors and Alaska's governor each have an investigation going, per the Washington Examiner.

A neighbor of mine once ran a bull with the same brand as mine, and I didn't need a federal judge to tell me somebody had questions to answer. The judge wasn't ruling on the name trick, just on the paperwork. That dog won't hunt. That dog won't even get off the porch.
