Ukraine Alert App Hacked, Sends False Warnings
Fox News · first seen 14h ago · 4 outlets
Ukraine's air raid alert system was hacked late on November 1, the Air Force said, and false warnings went out about nuclear, chemical and street fighting threats. Alerts reached phones and sounded in streets, including in Kyiv and Zakarpattia Oblast, according to journalists on the ground. The Air Force said there is no radiation threat and asked residents to remain calm. Officials warned the cyberattack could involve phishing links, and Vinnytsia Oblast Governor Natalia Zabolotna told people not to click the link in the message. No source has said where the hack came from. Ukrainians who got those alerts late at night deserve calm, accurate information, and whoever sent them deserves to be found.
