Floods Force Evacuations in Arizona, Colorado

Daily Mail · first seen 11h ago · 1 outlet

I'll just tell you what happened. Heavy rain brought flash flooding and mandatory evacuations across a wide part of the Southwest on Sunday, the Daily Mail reports. In Sedona, Arizona, officials ordered evacuations near Oak Creek, where people were trapped in their homes as the water rose. In Pagosa Springs, Colorado, the San Juan River was forecast to crest above 20 feet late Sunday night, well past the 1911 flood's crest of about 17.8 feet. The Archuleta County Sheriff's Office said: "This is a potentially catastrophic flood event." Emergency crews made at least 16 river rescues in Pima County by mid-afternoon. Local sheriffs and county crews are doing the heavy lifting here, and folks in the path should listen to them and move when told. Pray for the families in the path.
