Thousands Evacuated St. Paul Halal Fall Market
This one's hard to read, and harder to write. Fox 9 reports thousands were forced out of St. Paul's Union Depot after a fight at a ticketed halal market and a possible report of gunfire. Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher said Saturday night the incident could be gang-related. St. Paul police, leading the investigation, have not confirmed a gang link and say no arrests have been made. Still unknown: whether gunfire occurred, whether anyone was hurt, and what started the fighting. My prayers are with every family who came out for a shopping day and got hurried out. Public safety at gatherings like this is the first duty of local government, and St. Paul's leaders owe these families a straight answer about how it got that far.
