Kennedy Center Names 2026 Honorees for Arena Ceremony

Five 2026 lifetime achievement honorees are in: Paul Anka, David Foster, Andy Garcia, David Mamet and Barbara Mandrell. The Washington Examiner reports the 49th Honors ceremony is Dec. 7 at Capital One Arena, the first Honors show held away from Kennedy Center property. Just the News says a Special Honors Advisory Committee did the choosing, which is the most Washington sentence I've read all week.

Renovations are underway and the Trump administration is pushing to close the building, so the party is moving out. Honey, when the kitchen is being redone, you don't serve Thanksgiving off the sawhorses and call it an open house. Hollywood loves a grand gesture, and this one comes with a moving truck.

Congratulations to all five. The building can work out its address later.
