Dems Forecast a "Hispanic Hurricane" in Midterms
CBS News · first seen 3h ago · 1 outlet
Texas Democrats say a 'Hispanic hurricane' is coming, per Chuck Rocha at CBS News. They think Hispanic voters are drifting back after Trump's 2024 gains, though exit polling still has him winning about 55 percent of Texas Hispanic voters. A forecast is not weather.
The storm warning gets issued every Tuesday, and what lands is drizzle. An October CBS poll had six in 10 Hispanic voters planning to back Talarico over Paxton, a strong number for a storm that hasn't made landfall. Republicans say Democratic enthusiasm is still muted, and Trump says he won Hispanics.
Pew estimates about 39 million eligible Hispanic voters, which is a lot of sandbags. I'd wait for the returns before anybody orders the boats.
