Judge Floats Prosecuting Noncitizen Voters
A federal judge floated prosecuting noncitizens who allegedly voted in California rather than sorting their ballots, the sanest thing I've heard out of a courtroom in a long while. Operation Protect the Vote now has 34 defendants charged federally, all from a list of about 20,000 likely noncitizens the DOJ gave state elections officials. Essayli announced six more people charged in federal complaints, five in custody and a sixth being picked up while he talked. San Luis Obispo DA Dan Dow charged one noncitizen with three felonies and has 16 more under investigation. Dow says, "Protecting the integrity of our elections is not a Republican or Democratic issue," and I'd like to see anybody on the left argue with that at a feed store. Pass the popcorn.
