Nicolas Cage Still 'A Little Bit Homeless'

Actor Nicolas Cage told fans at Los Angeles Comic Con that he is “currently a little bit homeless” and has been living in hotels. The Daily Wire reports a sinkhole opened at his Malibu property in September, swallowing part of the driveway, and the house has not been livable since. The Daily Wire blames coastal erosion and heavy rains, while the Daily Mail cites erosion along with strong storms. Cage filed three permits in the days after the sinkhole appeared, one of them an emergency building permit, and all were approved. Reports differ on how many nearby homes the city marked unsafe: the Daily Wire says all 31 on the drive, while the Daily Mail counts seven declared unsafe and 24 red-tagged for vehicle access. Neighbors on that beachfront drive are living with the same disruption, and when the ground gives way under a family’s home, they deserve clear answers and a city that keeps them safe.
