Supreme Court Rules in Trump Admin Ballot Fight

The Supreme Court on Monday turned down the Trump administration's emergency bid to make California set aside mail-in ballots tied to a federal list of more than 20,000 suspected noncitizens. The court gave no explanation and no justice publicly dissented, which is about how much my hired hand tells me when I find a gate standing open. First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli says the Justice Department has charged 34 people from that list, six of them green card holders, and he put it this way: "It doesn't take many illegal votes to corrupt our elections." California officials say the list was inaccurate. I've heard that about plenty of lists, usually right before somebody asks to see the work. Whether those ballots came from eligible voters is still undetermined, which is the kind of answer I'd like before I leave a gate unlatched.
