Election Day Underway, House and Senate at Stake
Americans are voting today for all 435 House seats and about a third of the Senate, and Bloomberg says early turnout already beat the 2022 pace. Regular folks figured out long ago that the ballot box decides this, not the pundit class. Westchester's scanners quit at most sites, so voters are using paper in a secure box. Paper in a box is older than the Erie Canal, which is more than the scanners can say. Flooding in St. Lucie County, Florida, moved some polling places, and the Justice Department is sending about 1,000 monitors to all 50 states. The Westchester board says every eligible vote will be counted. CBS News says 35 Senate seats are up; Bloomberg says about a third. Grade that math: incomplete.
