Ex-Ambassador: Young Voters Key in Midterms

Some stories you read twice because you don't want them to be true. This is one. Video posted on X shows an elderly man slapping an 18-year-old Turning Point Action volunteer across the face outside the Woodland Heights School polling place in Laconia, New Hampshire, on Tuesday, after an argument. The young volunteer was tabling for a political group on Election Day when it happened.
The Daily Mail reports that Belknap County police are investigating, and that both county party committees condemned the violence. The attacker has not been named.
Nobody should be struck for volunteering on Election Day, whatever party they're working for. My hopes are with the young volunteer and their family, and the investigation should run its course under the same law that applies to everyone.
