Ballot Scanners Fail; Votes Put in Orange Bags

Westchester County's voting machines are refusing paper ballots at polling places across the county, so some voters are folding theirs into orange bags. The Board of Elections says every ballot will be secure and counted, which is what a supplier says right before he ships you the wrong part. When my register scanner quits on a Saturday, I don't hand customers a shoebox. The vendor supplied ballots the machines can't read, and nobody has explained how the county missed it before Election Day. The board has a video coming, which is government's version of a sign taped to the door. Rep. Mike Lawler, in a race many polls call a toss-up, is telling voters to stay in line while his campaign goes to court for one central count.
