Ninth Circuit Backs Trump on Noncitizen Ballots

PJ Media · first seen 3h ago · 1 outlet

PJ Media reports the Ninth Circuit ruled 2-1 on Monday that the Trump administration can resume asking states to set aside ballots from suspected noncitizens for investigation. The panel put a temporary restraining order on hold after complaints from two labor unions and two political interest groups, who argued the effort broke the Elections Clause and the Voting Rights Act.

Strip the spin off and here's what's left: the government gets to check the rolls while the case plays out. A stay is a pause, not a verdict, and any kid who got grounded for a week knows the difference. The Supreme Court also declined to intervene in a California case over about 20,000 noncitizen ballots, which is the high court's version of studying the ceiling.
