Gas Prices Hit Record High for Any Presidency

Trump's second term has pushed average gas just above Biden's presidency mark, at just over $3.46 a gallon per EIA figures. By a hair, but a hair still hurts at the pump. The Hill has the national average at $4.11, per GasBuddy, a new Election Day record. The Examiner blames the war in Iran and disrupted Strait of Hormuz shipments. No plan survives first contact with the enemy, and my editor would cut that Strait chokepoint as too convenient. Chevron and Exxon's third-quarter profits will be the Democrats' favorite talking point this week. The conservative fix is dull and it works: more American energy, fewer chokepoints in somebody else's water. Analyst Patrick De Haan warns volatility could return quickly after the election. To be continued, unfortunately.
