Learjet Expert: Pilots' Mistake in Florida Crash

NY Post · first seen 1h ago · 1 outlet

This one's heavy, folks. A Learjet 60 en route from Texas to the Bahamas crashed on a Sunday near a trailer park in Palm Beach County, Florida, killing all nine people aboard, including two pilots, passengers and a nanny. The NY Post reports the jet likely stalled between 35,000 and 37,000 feet after the co-pilot requested and received clearance to climb, having reported ice forming on the hull. Aviation lawyer Zachary S. Gorwitz told the Post, "This was kind of the perfect storm of trouble," and suggested the pilots may have erred by flying through a storm. Those are his views, not a finding. The official cause has not been determined. My heart goes out to the families. Let the investigators finish before anyone decides who got it wrong.
