Dem Pappas Beats Sununu for New Hampshire Senate

Democrat Chris Pappas won New Hampshire's Senate race over John Sununu, per NBC News, CBS News and the AP, keeping retiring Sen. Jeanne Shaheen's seat in Democratic hands. That's about as surprising as a dog staying on the porch, and Democrats will spend the next six years calling it a mandate for a bigger government.

Sununu conceded it was not his night, which is the most gracious thing I've heard a man say since my neighbor lost the county fair pie contest. Public polling had him trailing for most of the race, so I'd bet the pollsters are already dreaming up their next victory lap. The Washington Examiner quotes him saying "This has been an incredible campaign," which is what a decent man says when he has no interest in a fight in the parking lot.
