Trump Foe Targeted in Alaska Ballot Probe

A target letter is not a conviction, and Marc Elias has never met a microphone he didn't like. CBS News reports the Democratic attorney who spends his days suing the Trump administration received a target letter in a Justice Department criminal probe into an Alaska Senate ballot matter. The investigation concerns whether Democrats recruited a candidate sharing Senator Dan Sullivan's name to confuse voters. The probe has produced about 20 target and preservation letters, and prosecutors still haven't said what crimes they're looking at. Elias calls it a sham, and Trump has called for his prosecution. Strip out the spin and you get a probe nobody has explained, a lawyer with a statement ready, and a press corps that only got curious once a Democrat got a letter.
