Preliminary 4.7 Quake Shakes Southern California
NY Post · first seen 2h ago · 2 outlets
A preliminary 4.7 magnitude earthquake struck Baja California on Tuesday, Election Day, and people in Southern California felt it. The NY Post, citing the USGS, put the quake about 9 kilometers north of Delta, Mexico, at a depth of 15.6 kilometers. Residents in California and Arizona reported the shaking through the USGS 'Did You Feel It' tracker. The agency gives a 66 percent chance of an aftershock of magnitude 3.0 or greater within the next week.
Our thoughts go out to anyone who felt the ground move. If you live in the region, make sure your flashlight and drinking water are where you can find them in the dark, and check on the neighbors who live alone. That is how neighbors look after each other.
