Sherrod Brown Unseats Husted, Returns to Senate

Sherrod Brown is going back to the Senate. The Associated Press and Decision Desk HQ called Ohio's special election for the Democrat over Sen. Jon Husted, with Brown up about two points and most ballots counted. Final certified numbers aren't in yet, and the Daily Wire has the spending: more than $400 million. That flips a seat Republicans held and it shifts control of the Senate. No spin: the GOP lost one, and the voters who sent Brown packing in 2024 just brought him back.

Husted was appointed by Gov. Mike DeWine to fill JD Vance's seat. Somebody's not leveling with you, and it isn't me: four hundred million dollars of ads, and Ohioans spent it electing a man they'd just fired. Brown finishes the remainder of Vance's term.

The Republican leaders and consultants who set this up own it. They had the seat, the money, and the base. The Democrats and the press will gloat all week. Let them.

Don't take my word for it. Read the reporting here:
