Historic Midterm Rout for Democrats

NY Post · first seen 6h ago · 11 outlets

Fox News reports Democrats won the House and the Senate on Tuesday. The Washington Examiner has them at 222 House seats and 54 in the Senate as of Wednesday morning, with some races still being counted, so treat the tallies as early. Our front-page headline says rout for Democrats. The results say the opposite, and I'd rather correct it than leave it up there pretending. Republicans lost the House and Senate and seats in Texas, Kansas, South Carolina and Maine, and the voters did the grading. In Kansas, a 94-year Republican Senate winning streak ended. That's longer than most parishes keep the same pastor. Grade on that response: incomplete. The leaders turned in their homework, the voters read it, and they didn't give extra credit for the effort. Outlets are calling it a rejection of the president and the economy. The base has been saying the second part at the kitchen table for a while now.
