Dem Aaron Ford Unseats GOP Nevada Governor

Democrat Aaron Ford, Nevada's attorney general, beat incumbent Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo, per the AP and NBC News. With 85% counted, the AP has Ford at 51.5% to 44.3%, flipping the governor's mansion after four years of GOP control. Ford ran on affordability and housing costs and hung the 'Lombardo-Trump economy' on his opponent like a wet feed sack. Lombardo, a former Clark County sheriff, won in 2022 over Steve Sisolak, and four years later the grocery receipts got a vote of their own. Some Republican consultant will have a PowerPoint blaming messaging by lunch. Ford will be Nevada's first Black governor, per NBC and the Daily Mail, and the press will mention it about every hour until somebody brings up the grocery bill.
