Democrats took both chambers of Congress on Tuesday, Fox News reports, flipping at least seven Republican Senate seats and more than two dozen House districts. No spin from me: the party in power got run off the pasture.

Trump told Fox he expects to veto what Democrats send over, saying "They'll send over things that are insane and I'll veto them," and added, "I don't like to consider it a defeat." He blamed gas prices and some GOP candidates who opposed him. The Federalist says the Iran war and its costs were the main cause. A man who fills up a truck twice a week can do that math without a consultant. Bless his heart, some of the GOP candidates Trump blamed are doing their own math this week, and the base is not the one who owes anybody an explanation.

Meanwhile, the Democrats and the press are measuring drapes. A veto pen is a fine thing to have, but a lot of folks would rather have the prices come down.
