Trump Vows Deals, Hasn't Called Schumer or Jeffries

Schumer and Jeffries spent Wednesday telling reporters Trump hasn't called them yet, which is a strange complaint for two men whose party just won the House and is poised to hold at least 54 Senate seats. Jeffries put it plainly: "I have not heard from President Trump." Trump told Fox News he's already talked to two senators and three congressmen, though he won't say who, which is sound policy for anybody who'd rather not have the whole county calling about it. Democrats control the House and are headed for 54 Senate seats, but most bills still need 60 votes, so fifty-four looks like a fine herd until you find out the gate only opens for sixty. Mississippi and Alaska are still counting, so the phone may have some ringing left in it.
